O2 Accelerator was founded in Muscat, Oman, with a single conviction: that the Middle East and Africa can lead the global energy transition — but only if the region builds the talent and technology to do it on its own terms.

We do this by developing the professionals who will deliver it and the ventures that will build it. The Graduate Academy and Innovation Studio are two engines of the same platform — designed to compound over time as graduates become practitioners, ventures become companies, and partners become long-term collaborators.

We are not affiliated with any government, utility, or investor. Our independence is the foundation of our credibility.

Our headquarters in Muscat serves as the operational centre for both the Graduate Academy and Innovation Studio, housing faculty offices, co-working space for Studio ventures, and facilities for cohort training and events.

O2 Accelerator was established in Muscat, Oman — a city at the crossroads of the Gulf, East Africa, and South Asia, and a natural base for a platform serving the broader MEA energy transition.
The founding team identified a structural gap: the region had capital, policy ambition, and natural resources, but lacked the trained professionals and commercialised technologies needed to execute the transition at scale. O2 was built to close that gap.
Today, O2 operates the Graduate Academy — a professional certification programme for energy practitioners — and the Innovation Studio, an incubator and accelerator for energy and climate technology ventures. Both programmes are connected to a growing ecosystem of universities, corporations, developers, and investors across the region.

The team behind O2 Accelerator brings together over a century of combined experience across the full energy spectrum — from large-scale oil and gas operations to renewable energy development, green hydrogen, and green ammonia. They have collectively structured, financed, and delivered hundreds of energy projects across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. This is not a team of academics or consultants. It is a team of practitioners who have sat across the table from governments, utilities, and investors — and know what it takes to get projects built.
